The Protector Mindset (101) course is for anyone in the RIGHT PLACE at the RIGHT TIME and is the RIGHT PERSON. It is designed to test students’ ability to make critical decisions under different types of stress and cultivate the confidence to apply lethal intervention during an Active Shooter Situation. Students will leave this course with purpose, clarity, confidence, and the tools to stop active shooters.
We have combined our experience and the lessons learned from active threat response situations that our country has been plagued with since the Columbine School Shooting (1999) - to more recently with the Robb Elementary School Shooting (2021) and The Covenant School Shooting (2023). We take the common themes of these attacks and break them down into a consumable two-day training event. Active Threat Response is the most dynamic of environments, and the training has to be as adaptive and realistic as possible to be effective.

COURSE OVERVIEW:
The environment and objectives will be realistic. Based on our experience working in the most elite US Army & Law Enforcement units, we focused primarily on hostage rescue. Students will learn leading-edge tactics used today by Tier 1 teams to search and clear a structure mitigating complex, deadly force encounters. You will learn how to identify what type of environment you’re in that will assist in your decision-making when choosing a tactic/tool to apply. You will also begin to understand when to change tempo and tactics as the situation changes or evolves. Students will receive detailed course instruction, demonstrations, practical, real-life force-on-force scenarios, and immediate diagnostic feedback to increase operational capabilities.
Day 1: Protector Mindset (Classroom) | Shoot, Move & Communicate (Simunition Shoot-house)
Day 2: Breathwork | Stop the Bleed | Scenario-Based training | Commercial Venue | Simulate a real-world experience
COURSE LOADOUT:
This course will be entirely simunition-based, and you will be provided with the training rifle and pistol.
We will provide all simunition training ammunition for this course.
Bring weapons mounted pistol light if you have one.
Bring your body armor and pistol belt with a holster if you have them. If you do not have it, we will provide you with what you need for this course.
ADDITIONAL ITEMS:
- Footwear suitable for rapid movement and turning
- Wear clothing suitable for training in any weather; pants must have belt loops.
- Wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses, or non-shattering prescription glasses
- Extra Batteries
- Earmuffs and earplugs (Electronic Preferred)
